The Chicago Park District is launching online registration for 2023 Winter Programs. Most programs begin the week of January 9 and run through March 24, 2023. This winter, the District will offer in-person programming providing residents with opportunities to participate in a variety of classes. Winter programs include ice skating, fitness, swimming, music and more.

Among the session’s most popular options is Park Kids, an after school program, which will be offered at various parks across the city. Participants will enjoy arts and crafts, sports, homework time, wellness and nature activities.

Along with our in-person winter programs, the Park District continues to make available more than 100 virtual programs for the public to enjoy from home. These programs include arts and crafts, games, and fitness programs. Online boot camp, drawing, film club, American Sign Language, yoga, ceramics, pre-teen club, bingo, and more will be accessible through a live online platform this winter. The Chicago Park District also offers more than 200 on-demand virtual experiences on our YouTube channel.

“Our programs provide various options for physical activity in the winter focused on helping park patrons of all ages maintain a healthy lifestyle,” said Chicago Park District General Superintendent and CEO Rosa Escareño. “We encourage all residents to register for a program this winter and challenge themselves to try something new or continue their learning and fitness adventure in our parks!”

Fees for programs vary depending on location, offerings and hours. We maintain our commitment to put children first and not turn away anyone for inability to pay. Financial assistance is available. Given the popularity of programs, patrons are encouraged to browse through the list of available park programs, which are now available to view, and create a wish list before the start of registration.

Youth will participate in recreational activities, arts and crafts, sports and other engaging activities. Find a location near you and register here. Exact camp dates, hours, and ages vary by park. Most camps start the week of December 19, with some starting as early as December 12.
