Description

In 2018, approximately 13,000 marram grass plants (Ammophila breviligulata) were installed east of the Lakefront Trail heading north along North Avenue Beach. This native, sand-loving plant reduces erosion and encourages dune formation. These plantings aim to increase habitat connectivity along the Lake Michigan shoreline.
